  First-year Southern Miss football coach Will Hall announced the addition of defensive backs Jay Stanley and Lakevias Daniel on Thursday. Both players are Mississippi natives and come over from Ole Miss after entering the transfer portal. Stanley played in 16 games over the last two seasons in Oxford and played in seven games this season, where he had six tackles to go along with a pass breakup. In 2019, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound safety appeared in nine games, with two starts, as a freshman. He registered 20 tackles with one pass breakup. - Clarion Ledger
