Former University of Wisconsin quarterback Alex Hornibrook, who transferred to Florida State in the off-season, took what appears to be a subtle shot at some of his old teammates in speaking with the media Friday morning. The quote that's drawn some response, relayed by Florida State announcer Ariya Massoudi: "I'm excited to be here. I've never been around a group of WRs that love football so much and never want to leave the field." Transfer QB Alex Hornibrook: "I'm excited to be here. I've never been around a group of WRs that love football so much and never want to leave the field."

It's been an arduous year-plus for Hornibrook, a polarizing quarterback for Badgers fans who elected to transfer despite 26 wins in his 32 starts with Wisconsin. Last season, he missed four games with injury and struggled with interceptions when he was healthy, tossing 13 of them. His 25 touchdowns in 2017 mark the second most in a Badgers season. - Journal Sentinel
