South Alabama quarterback Chance Lovertich has entered the NCAA transfer portal, AL.com has learned. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Lovertich played in six games and started one for the Jaguars in 2020. Working mostly as USA's No. 2 quarterback behind starter Desmond Trotter, the junior-college transfer completed 54.7 percent of his passes for 619 yards and five touchdowns with two interceptions. Lovertich left the South Alabama team in mid-November, with three games remaining in the season. Trotter was backed up by redshirt freshman Tanner McGee and true freshman Eli Gainey the rest of the way. - AL.com
