  11/21/20 - QB Carson StrongrJr/2022, Nevada

Since Nov. 1 of last year, Strong has been nothing short of one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. With the sophomore from Vacaville, Calif., playing pretty much every down, Nevada has gone 6-2 in that time, including a 3-0 start to this season. What jumps out is the accuracy, not only in terms of completion percentage - a statistic that can be heavily influenced by short passes - but TD/interception ratio. Strong is both taking care of the ball and coming up with big plays. Strong enters the New Mexico game having not thrown an interception in his last 282 attempts, the best such streak in the country by an even 100 attempts. His last pick came in the Wolf Pack's road win at San Diego State last season. "I haven't really been thinking too much about the streak," Strong said last week. "I'm just trying to read the defense and take what they give me every single play. I just want to hit the open man; I don't care who it is. "Seventy-five percent (completion percentage this season) is good, but we could be even better." - Reno Gazette Journal
