He was vocal about his desire to play this fall, and backed up his words in early September by joining teammates, players and his head coach for a march in Ann Arbor. Now that the Big Ten has returned and Michigan set to resume play Oct. 24 at Minnesota, starting defensive end Aidan Hutchinson left little doubt about his plans. He's in - and working overtime to be better than last year. "I've been watching a lot of NFL film lately," Hutchinson said last week on the "In the Trenches" podcast. "I think it's just super helpful - more than you'll ever know." Hutchinson, listed at 6-foot-6 and 269 pounds, displays extraordinary athleticism for a player his size. He looks like a tackle but plays like an end, evident by his 68-tackle (10 for a loss), 4 1/2-sack season in 2019, his sophomore season.

It was enough to earn third-team all-Big Ten honors from the coaches, raising expectations for Hutchinson this fall. He joins fellow starter Kwity Paye, another end, and fifth-year senior Carlo Kemp as the three returning starters along Michigan's defensive line, and hopes the group can become a "matchup nightmare" for opponents. "When they bring that tight-end over, that just means a lot of guys are getting single-blocked," Hutchinson said. "So, when they bring that tight end over to me and I get double-teamed, that means Kwity probably gets single-blocked. "It's going to be scary when we get out there." - Ann Arbor News
