Kansas State ranks last in the Big 12 in rushing offense, averaging 78.5 yards through two games. Even so, Wildcats freshman running backs Deuce Vaughn and Keyon Mozee played key roles in K-State's 38-35 upset last week at then-No. 3 Oklahoma. Vaughn broke a short pass reception for 77 yards, and Mozee lined up as a split receiver, was left uncovered and hauled in a pass for 78 yards. Both plays set up third-quarter touchdowns that helped Kansas State rally from 28-7 and 35-14 deficits. Then Vaughn went 38 yards for a fourth-quarter touchdown that tied the score at 35, and kicker Blake Lynch made a decisive 50-yard field goal with 4:32 left. Vaughn is a 5-foot-5, 168-pound freshman from Round Rock Cedar Ridge. "He's dynamic in space. He's a play-maker," Tech coach Matt Wells said. "It doesn't matter what his size is. He plays big." - Lubbock Avalanche Journal
