  10/01/20 - QB Jack CoanrSr/2022, Notre Dame

Coan was effective in 2019 in his first full season as a starter, but he also wasn't the focal point of the offense with Jonathan Taylor in the backfield. With Taylor gone, the Badgers could rely on Coan's arm more in 2020. He completed 69.6 percent of his passes last year - good for third in program history - while throwing for 2,727 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions for the Big Ten West champion Badgers. The former three-star prospect isn't the most athletic quarterback, but at 6-foot-3, he can be an effective short-yardage runner near the goal line, rushing for four scores in 2019. But while Coan is the incumbent starter, redshirt freshman Graham Mertz could push him for playing time this season. - Ann Arbor News
