  Draft Scout by Conference

He quarterbacked OSU to seven wins in 10 games last season before a thumb injury effectively ended his season. Mike Gundy declined to place Sanders in the realm of Rudolph 2016, Weeden 2011 or Robinson 2008, NFL-level quarterbacks who were embarking on their second season leading the Cowboys. "Spencer's further along than he was at this time last year," Gundy said of Sanders. "He still has a ways to go; he missed quite a few games with injury. So I'm not sure that he falls into the category of a veteran seasoned quarterback. "I would say that in the latter part of this season, if he continues to work and compete, that he can get in that category." But Sanders has notched three road wins, including at 23rd-ranked Iowa State. He passed for more than 2,000 yards, rushed for 109 yards at both Oregon State and Texas, and threw 16 touchdown passes. Sanders also threw 11 interceptions and was prone to fumble, so he's got to correct the turnover bug. - Daily Oklahoman
