Ohio State defensive tackle Haskell Garrett is recovering after he was shot in the face early Sunday morning. "I want to inform everyone that I am okay and my recovery is going well," he wrote in a message on Twitter. In his first public comments since the shooting, Garrett thanked Columbus police, EMTs and doctors and nurses at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he had previously been hospitalized. He was released on Monday. "I also want to thank all of my family and friends for their thoughts and prayers during this awful circumstance," he added. Garrett told police he was attempting to break up a dispute between a man and a woman in the University District when he was shot. - Columbus Dispatch
