Draft Scout College Football Player News

Georgia freshman defensive back Daran Branch has left the team, according to multiple reports. His high school coach Zephaniah Powell told the Athens Banner-Herald Wednesday night that Branch had not told him about departing Georgia and he had not heard from Bulldog coaches. Branch is deciding on whether he wants to continue to play football and returned home to Louisiana, according to 247Sports, citing people with knowledge of the situation. DawgNation was the first to report Branch has not been practicing with the team. Practices are closed to the media due to the pandemic. Georgia typically does not confirm player movement on its roster, leaving that to coach Kirby Smart to comment during media availabilities. His last one was Aug. 16. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound three-star signee from Amite, La., was part of Georgia's top-ranked recruiting class. - Athens Daily Banner
