  Draft Scout by Conference

Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields recognizes the health and financial motivations that might convince college football stars to opt out of the 2020 season due to the coronavirus. However, the returning Heisman Trophy finalist said that line of thinking has not applied to him to this point. Asked Tuesday if he had considered opting out, Fields said, "I see where other guys are coming from, but I haven't necessarily thought about it yet." "Growing up as a kid I've always been a competitor," Fields said on a conference call that introduced him and six teammates as 2020 captains. "I love to play football. Growing up in my family, I never really needed anything. My family provided everything I've needed. So getting to the money as fast as I can is not really a priority to me. "Getting with my teammates and grinding every day with coach (Mickey Marotti) in workouts, thats' what I'm cherishing the most right now. Working with them and looking forward to the season, I'm trying to stay as optimistic as possible right now." - Cleveland Plain Dealer
