Draft Scout College Football Player News

Former Auburn linebacker Tre Williams has started his next career. Williams officially has joined the coaching staff of the defending Class 7A state champion Thompson Warriors. He will coach freshmen linebackers and help with the varsity as well. "We are always looking to hire young guys who can bring experience to our staff," Thompson head coach Mark Freeman said. "He'll be a great addition for our guys. He is a young and up-and-coming coach. He has a lot to give. He is used to playing in big games. He knows the emotion of the sport. It's a really good situation for Tre and our school as well."

Williams gave pro football several shots after a standout career at Auburn. After being released by three NFL teams, he played this spring with the Los Angeles Wildcats of the XFL. However, the pandemic cut that season short and the league officially suspended operations in April. That left Williams, an multi-year All-State performer at St. Paul's Episcopal in Mobile, with a career choice once again. - Birmingham News
