The former walk-on came to UNT as a wide receiver before moving to tight end ahead of last season. The switch helped Pirtle emerge as a key weapon for the Mean Green. He finished with 17 catches for 263 yards and five touchdowns last season on his way to earning honorable mention All-C-USA honors.
