Draft Scout College Football Player News

Derrick Brown is paying attention. The former Auburn star and unanimous All-American sees those questioning his ability and the doubters who wonder if he's worth a first-round pick or worthy of being among the first 10 players off the board in April's NFL Draft. He has taken note of the people eyeing his three-cone drill time from the NFL Combine (8.22 seconds, which was the fourth-worst among tackles in Combine history), and those - including one Pro Football Focus analyst - who doubt he's a good enough pass-rusher to warrant being selected in the first round. And Brown has a message for all of them. "Well, you know, if you care about the three-cone drill as much as handling a double-team, then hey, go for it," Brown said after Auburn's pro day on Friday. "If that's what you think, that's what you think. I can't do nothing about it." "(Those drills) tell you nothing about how you play football," Brown said. "So, I mean-I don't necessarily think it's even the team or coaches that worry about it. I mean, you know, tape does all the talking for me that anybody needs." - Birmingham News
