  2019 AFCA NAIA COACHES' SECOND TEAM ALL-AMERICAN: LB Sam Morton, Sr., Evangel (Mo.),...Morton was a unanimous All-American selection after leading the NAIA most of the season in tackles for a loss before finishing fourth with 26. He also led the Heart in sacks and was eighth nationally with 10, which also ranked seventh-best in a single-season at Evangel. The Strafford, Missouri native was also named the Heart Conference Defensive Player of the Year and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. He finished with 26 tackles for a loss ranking second most-in a single-season behind Andreas Moeller who set the record last season with 27.5. A three-year starter for the Crusaders, Morton finished his career ranked eighth all-time at Evangel in sacks, and second all-time in tackles for a loss. He finished with 238 career tackles and four interceptions, as well. - Evangel Football
