2021 ALL-SUN BELT FIRST TEAM (COACHES): QB - Grayson McCall, Coastal Carolina (RS So., QB - Indian Trail, N.C.),...McCall, who was the 2020 Sun Belt Player and Freshman of the Year, was once again named to the All-Sun Belt first team this season, as the redshirt sophomore quarterback was 9-1 on the season as a starter while missing two games due to an upper-body injury. A Davey O'Brien and Maxwell Award semifinalist, as well as a two-time Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week honoree, McCall leads all of NCAA FBS in passing efficiency (207.9) which would shatter the NCAA single-season record of 203.1 set by Mac Jones of Alabama last season.

He also leads all of FBS in yards per pass attempt (12.12 yards) and ranks second nationally in passing yards per completion (16.61 yards). Despite missing two games and playing only the first half in two other games due to blowout wins, McCall's numbers in quality statistics are outstanding. He leads the Sun Belt in completion percentage (73.0), passing efficiency (207.9), passing touchdowns (23), passing yards per game (255.8), passing yards per completion (16.61), points responsible for (168), points responsible per game (16.8), total offense per game (280.8), and yards per pass attempt (12.12). He is also the signal-caller for a Coastal offense that leads the Sun Belt in scoring, rushing, and efficiency. - Coastal Carolina Football

A reserve running back at Nebraska a little more than a month ago, Sevion Morrison announced Sunday night he'll soon be calling Kansas home. A 6-foot, 210-pound back from Tulsa, Okla., Morrison was a freshman this past season, and finished with 30 carries for 116 yards and three touchdowns, while appearing in seven games for the Huskers. It was his second season with the program, but he didn't play in any games in 2020.

Morrison decided to leave the program in November, with just a few weeks left in the season, and entered his name in the transfer portal. Not long ago, Morrison was a highly regarded high school prospect in the Class of 2020. Rivals rated him as a four-star talent at Edison High, and ranked him as the No. 2 overall senior in the state of Oklahoma that year. Before signing with Nebraska, Morrison picked up scholarship offers from numerous Power Five programs, including Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa State, Kansas State and Baylor. - Lawrence Journal World

Former Syracuse tight end Landon Morris announced on Twitter that he has committed to join the University of Utah football program, becoming the second transfer from the Orange this week to land at a Power-Five destination. Morris' announcement follows one made by former quarterback Tommy DeVito (Illinois) over the weekend. Utah went 10-3 last season and is currently preparing to play Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. Morris never played in a game for Syracuse, arriving for training camp in the fall as a three-star recruit and ranked No. 82 among tight end prospects in the country by 247 Sports. When he first entered the transfer portal, Morris told 247 Sports that he didn't see himself being utilized in a pass-catching role at Syracuse, something he had anticipated following his recruitment. - The Post-Standard

2021 ALL-MAC THIRD TEAM (COACHES): Running Back - Clint Ratkovich, Northern Illinois,...Listed as a fullback, Ratkovich showed his versatility - and speed - with a 96-yard touchdown run versus Western Michigan, the second-longest touchdown run in school history. He leads NIU with 13 touchdowns, 11 rushing and two passing. "I'm so happy for Clint because his value to our offense can't be measured in statistics," Hammock said. "I'm glad Clint was able to get recognized for his contributions to our team because it's not going to show up in the stat sheet." - Northern Illinois Football

Top UCLA defensive lineman Otito Ogbonnia announced Monday on Twitter that he would forgo his final season of eligibility to declare for the NFL draft, potentially leaving a big hole for the team during the Holiday Bowl game later this month. A senior with one extra season of eligibility remaining because of the COVID-19 extensions granted to every player, Ogbonnia did not specifically mention the bowl game but intimated that he would sit out to "focus on my rehab for an injury that I've played with most of the season and begin my draft preparation. This has been one of the hardest decisions I've had to make, but I'm proud to say that I played in every football game in my time here at UCLA." Ogbonnia was the team's most productive defensive lineman last season, recording 30 tackles - including five for losses and two sacks - in addition to two quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He was also the top chef on the team who routinely cooked a smorgasbord of delicacies for his fellow out-of-state teammates during Thanksgiving week. - Los Angeles Times

Following last week's announcement that Penn State starting quarterback Sean Clifford would return for a sixth season, third-string quarterback Ta'Quan Roberson entered his name into the transfer portal on Monday morning. The redshirt sophomore quarterback took over for Clifford following his injury suffered in the 23-20 loss against Iowa. Roberson went 7-for-21 (33% completion rate) on passes for 34 yards and two interceptions and rushed 10 times for 27 yards. After Penn State went into the bye week, head coach James Franklin was bullish on who the starting quarterback would be with Clifford's injury status and Roberson's performance in the Iowa game looming large. - Centre Times

Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker will have an encore. After a standout debut season, Hooker will use his final year of eligibility by returning to the Vols as a super senior in 2022. "Looking forward to many more. Let's run it back," Hooker posted on Twitter on Sunday. Even with coach Josh Heupel signing his first recruiting class Wednesday, Hooker's announcement represents the biggest news for UT's 2022 roster. The Virginia Tech graduate transfer climbed the UT record book in his first season, and he ranks third nationally in passer rating.

Hooker's return means the Vols may not miss a beat in 2022 from their frenetic pace in Heupel's first season, when they ranked ninth in scoring offense (38.8 ppg) and led FBS in plays per minute. And it also stabilizes UT's quarterback situation. Four-star prospect Tayven Jackson plans to sign with UT on Wednesday and enroll in January. He can now learn behind Hooker for one season rather than compete for the starting job with backup Joe Milton or potential transfers. - Knoxville News

2021 ALL-SEC FIRST TEAM (COACHES): LB Damone Clark, LSU,...A Baton Rouge native who prepped at Southern Lab, Clark had a breakout season for the Tigers, leading the LSU defense in nearly every statistical category. In addition to his 135 tackles, Clark recorded team highs in tackles for loss (15.5), sacks (5.5), turnovers created (4), and forced fumbles (2). Clark's 15.5 tackles for loss are the most by an LSU player since 2012 when Kevin Minter recorded 15. It also ranks as the second-highest total in LSU history for a linebacker, trailing only Michael Brooks, who had 16 in 1985. He added an interception and a fumble recovery to go along with three pass breakups and a pair of quarterback hurries for one of the most complete seasons for a linebacker in school history. - LSU Football
