Quarterback Caden Creel rushed for a career-high 211 yards and a touchdown as Jacksonville State shut out New Mexico State 24-0 on Wednesday night. The Gamecocks (6-2, 4-0 Conference USA) won their fifth straight game and clinched bowl eligibility for th e fourth straight season at the Bowl Subdivision level. Creel became the first Jacksonville State quarterback to rush for 200 yards in a game, surpassing his previous career high of 161 yards against Southern Miss in 2025. He broke loose for a career-lon g 84-yard run late in the third quarter to set up Jalen Likely's 1-yard touchdown, which extended the lead to 17-0.Creel opened the scoring with a 3-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, and Garrison Rippa added a 49-yard field goal in the thi rd. Creel connected with Luke Gilbert for a 29-yard touchdown in the fourth. Jacksonville State rushed for a season-high 324 yards, topping its previous best of 276 against Middle Tennessee. The Gamecocks also held New Mexico State scoreless and limited the Aggies to 29 yards passing. Marc Woods intercepted Adam Damante in the second half. Caden Creel threw for 214 yards and two touchdowns, and Garrison Rippa kicked a 26-yard field goal with 44 seconds remaining as Jacksonville State edged FIU 27-24 on Tuesday night. The Gamecocks (5-2, 3-0 Conference USA) are 19-3 at home since moving to the FBS. They drove 82 yards in 13 plays for the winning field goal after the game entered the fourth quarter tied at 24. Creel threw first-quarter touchdown passes of 38 yards to Luke Gilbert and 36 yards to Deondre Johnson to help Jacksonville State bu ild a 17-7 lead.FIU (3-3, 1-1) rallied behind JJ Kohl, who escaped pressure on third-and-15 and found Maguire Anderson for a 50-yard touchdown. Kohl connected with Anderson again for a 30-yard score to tie the game at 17 before halftime. Josiah Ta ylor recorded his first career interception late in the second quarter, but FIU kicker Robert Czeremcha missed a 38-yard field goal as time expired. 10/12 WEEK 6 CUSA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Caden Creel, Jax State - Sr. - QB - Fairhope, Ala.,...Creel completed 26-44 passes for 311 yards with a touchdown and added 38 yards and another score on the ground in the Gamecocks' (4-2, 2-0 CUSA) 27-26 w in at Kennesaw State on Wednesday. He had career highs in both attempts and completions to register his second 300-yard passing day of the season. With three defenders in his way, Creel managed to dance his way through the defense for a two-yard score to put Jax State up 14-9. 09/28 WEEK 4 CUSA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Caden Creel, Jax State - Sr. - QB - Fairhope, Ala.,...For the second time this season and third time in his career, Creel passed for 200 or more yards and rushed for an additional 100 as the Gamecocks (3-2, 1-0 CUSA) opened CUSA play with a 23-13 win over MTSU. It was the ninth time in his career he's rushed for 100 or more yards, becoming one of just eight players in program history with nine or more 100-yard games. Creel finished the night 19-27 passing for 241 yards, which included a 38-yard pass to Deondre Johnson with 1:15 left in the third quarter to regain the lead for good in the game. Quarterback Caden Creel and Cam Cook combined to rush for 252 yards and three touchdowns, powering Jacksonville State to a 35-26 victory over Kennesaw State on Saturday night in a Conference USA showdown. The Gamecocks (7-3, 6-0) have used a five-game wi n streak to move a game ahead of the field. The Owls (7-3, 5-1) fall a half-game behind second-place Western Kentucky. Amari Odom scored on a 1-yard run at the end of a 14-play drive and Kennesaw State jumped in front. Creel answered with an 18-yard touc hdown run to tie it 7-all after one quarter.Daniel Kinney's 43-yard field goal gave the Owls a 10-7 lead with 4:33 left before halftime. Cook scored on a 6-yard run less than two minutes later and Gavin Wimsatt fired a 62-yard scoring strike to De ondre Johnson with 4 seconds left on his only pass to put the Gamecocks up 22-10. Garrison Rippa stretched the lead to 15 with a 32-yard field goal midway through the third quarter and Creel scored on a 15-yard run for a 32-13 advantage with 10:30 left i n the game. Backup quarterback Dexter Williams II connected with Clayton Coppock for a 10-yard touchdown before scoring on a 9-yard run at 3:22 to cut the Owls' deficit to 32-26. Caden Creel and Cam Cook combined for 259 rushing yards and were involved in late scores for Jacksonville State in a 30-27 win over UTEP on Saturday. Creel's 31-yard scramble on a six-play, 46-yard drive set up Garrison Rippa's 45-yard, game-winning fiel d goal with 53 seconds remaining. Creel had 134 rushing yards on 13 attempts, and was 15-of-31 passing for 181 yards, with a touchdown and an interception. He found Deondre Johnson for a 77-yard touchdown strike on the Gamecocks' opening drive.Coo k had 127 yards on 19 carries, scoring his lone touchdown to take the lead for the Gamecocks (6-3, 5-0 Conference USA) with 10:01 left in the fourth quarter.
