WEEK 9 PIONEER FOOTBALL LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Vincent Firenze, Dayton (Sophomore (RS), Safety, Syracuse, New York),...Firenze's 20-yard pick-six in the third quarter capped Dayton's 28-point outburst in a 35-19 PFL victory against national ly-ranked Presbyterian. On Presbyterian's first drive of the second half, he intercepted a pass on 3rd-and-5 from the Blue Hose 17-yard line and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown that proved to be Dayton's final score of the game. Firenze also recorde d a career-high and game-best 14 tackles (seven solo). - Pioneer Football League

He racked up a career-high 14 tackles, including seven solos, and returned his third interception of the season 20 yards for a touchdown. The Flyers kept PC, which was 19th-ranked, both 22 points and 102 yards below their pregame averages. WEEK 2 PFL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Vincent Firenze, Dayton (Sophomore (RS), Safety, Syracuse, New York),...Firenze led a Dayton unit that tossed a shutout in a 38-0 victory against Division II Thomas More on Saturday. He recorded six tackles (two s olo) and also had an interception and a pass breakup. Firenze's interception came on the first play of a Thomas More drive and led to Dayton's first touchdown. His pass breakup came on a third-down play, forcing a punt in the third quarter. Dayton held T homas More to 200 offensive yards, 11 first downs, and a 2-of-11 third-down conversion rate. - Pioneer Football League
