09/07 WEEK 1 MISSOURI VALLEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK: QB Jerry Kaminski, North Dakota, 6-2, 213, Sr., Sun Prairie, Wis.,...Kaminski went 23-for-29 for 233 yards and a career-high five touchdown passes in UND's 62-26 victory over St. Thomas. He threw all five of his scoring tosses in the opening half, going 18-for-22 for 193 yards to help UND build a 41-12 at the break. Kaminski once again spread the ball around, finding nine different receivers and completing 79 percent of his passes as UND won its seventh s traight Potato Bowl game. Jerry Kaminski threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns, Matt Lawson ran for two touchdowns, and North Dakota scored all its points in the first half to beat Long Island University 42-21 on Thursday in a season opener for both teams. North Dakota is rank ed in the top 10 in both the Stats Perform and AFCA preseason polls for the second time in program history. Kaminski threw first quarter touchdown passes of 14 yards to Korey Tai and 15 yards to Nathan Hromadka while Lawson wedged a 4-yard scoring run be tween the two.Early in the second, Kaminski threw a 28-yard touchdown to Caleb Goodloe before Charles Langama carried it in from the 13 and Lawson ended the Fighting Hawks scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run with 2:27 left before halftime. Goodloe had five receptions for 118 yards. With 9:59 left in the third, the Sharks got on the scoreboard when Tyselle Spencer ran it in from the 13. To close the third, Luca Stanzani threw a 65-yard touchdown to Boa Veikei. Stanzani closed the scoring with 3:38 left when he ran it in from the 1 to end a 16-play, 68-yard drive that lasted 9:25. Jerry Kaminski threw for one touchdown and ran for another, Jonnie Wiltshire scored on an interception return and North Dakota defeated Murray State 35-17 on Saturday. Kaminski capped a 91-yard with a 15-yard touchdown pass to BJ Fleming to open the scor ing and added a 28-yard run late to ice the game. Sawyer Seidl carried 22 times for 96 yards and a 3-yard run on the opening drive of the second half to give the Fighting Hawks (7-4, 5-2 Missouri Valley Football Conference) a 14-9 lead after the Racers ( 0-11, 0-7) had three field goals in the second quarter for a 9-7 lead. North Dakota has not allowed a first-quarter touchdown in the last eight games.Wiltshire had his 30-yard pick-6 after that to make it 21-8 and then Colton Brunell scored on a 1 -yard plunge. Baxter Wright was 23-of-34 passing but picked up just 140 yards for the Racers. He picked up a fourth-quarter touchdown on an 8-yard run. It was a good bounce-back win for the Fighting Hawks, the 18th-ranked team in the FCS coaches poll. Jerry Kaminski threw four touchdown passes, Sawyer Seidl had 165 scrimmage yards with two touchdowns and North Dakota routed Indiana State 46-17 on Saturday. The Fighting Hawks (No. 10 FCS coaches poll, 6-2, 4-0 Missouri Valley Football Conference) led 2 4-3 at halftime then added 20 points in the third quarter for an insurmountable 44-10 lead. Kaminski completed 22 of 34 passes for 300 yards. His touchdowns went to four receivers.Seidl gained 104 yards rushing with one touchdown and added 61 yard s receiving with another touchdown. He had a long run of 31 yards and a long reception of 56 yards, although neither play resulted in a touchdown. Quarterbacks Brock Riddle and Keegan Patterson completed only 10 of 34 passes for 158 yards for Indiana Sta te (2-6, 0-4). North Dakota intercepted three passes. Jerry Kaminski threw three touchdown passes and Gaven Ziebarth ran for a pair of scores in North Dakota's 35-17 win over Youngstown State on Saturday. Kaminski found BJ Fleming for two touchdowns in the first half, as the Fighting Hawks had four consecut ive touchdown drives to open the game. Fleming had five catches for 82 yards, all in the first half. Kaminski was 17-of-27 passing for 146 yards.Ziebarth had 72 yards on the ground, mostly from a 51-yard score early in the second quarter to give N orth Dakota a 21-0 lead. Sawyer Seidl had 114 yards on 20 carries. The FCS No. 13 Fighting Hawks (4-2, 2-0 Missouri Valley Football Conference) held Youngstown State to 3 of 14 on third downs. Beau Brungard was 18 of 33 for 269 yards with a pair of touch down passes for the Penguins. Kylon Wilson caught four passes for 102 yards, including a 37-yard score. WEEK 6 MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: QB Jerry Kaminski, North Dakota, So., Sun Prairie, Wis.,...Kaminski was an impressive 20-for-23 passing for 246 yards and four scores in UND's 35-7 win at UNI. He also completed a pass to hims elf in the third quarter, which was possible when the ball was deflected by a defender and then caught by Kaminski and returned for a two-yard completion. He finished the game with completions to 10 different receivers (including himself) and had passing touchdowns to four different players. Kaminski also recorded five rushes for 35 yards. The win marked NoDak's first win in the UNI-Dome since a 35-31 thriller on Sept. 9, 2006. It also ended an eight-game winless skid on the road for the Fighting Hawks , which dated back to Nov. 4, 2023 (W, 45-31 at Murray State) and was the largest margin of victory for UND in an away game since the 42-7 victory at Indiana State on Nov. 5, 2022. - Missouri Valley Football

Jerry Kaminski threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns, Sawyer Seidl returned the second-half kickoff 92 yards for one of his three touchdowns and North Dakota routed Valparaiso 58-7 on Saturday. North Dakota rebounded from a 24-23 loss at Montana last we ekend when the Grizzlies scored the final 10 points after not leading until the final 1:35. North Dakota led Valpo 24-0 at halftime behind Kaminski's 135 yards and two touchdowns. Jerry Kaminski threw four touchdown passes - two to Nathan Hromadka - and ran for a TD on Saturday night to help North Dakota beat Portland State 50-20 on Saturday night. Kaminski led a nine-play, 61-yard opening drive that he capped with a 5-yard touchd own pass to Hromadka about 4 1/2 minutes into the game. Cru Newman fumbled on the ensuing kickoff return, UND's Grant Noland recovered at the 17 and Kaminski's 7-yard TD run made it 14-0 less than two minutes later.Kaminski was 14-of-21 passing fo r 164 yards and added 70 yards rushing on eight carries.
