2025 PIONEER FOOTBALL LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Sean Allison, Drake,...Allison, from Hinsdale, Illinois, becomes the sixth Drake athlete to claim the league's Defensive Player of the Year honor. He finished the season with 126 total tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, and two interceptions. Allison led the league and ranked among the FCS Top 12 in both total tackles per game (10.5, 7th in the FCS) and solo tackles per game (5.17, 12th). He led a Drake defense that held PFL opponents to 1 1.0 points per game and 287.6 yards per game, ranking first and second in the league. WEEK 12 PIONEER FOOTBALL LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sean Allison, Drake (Senior, Linebacker, Hinsdale, Illinois),...Allison intercepted two passes and has 12 tackles (eight solo) to lead a Drake defensive effort that held Dayton off the scorebo ard until under nine minutes remaining in the game en route to a 14-6 victory on the road. Allison's first interception came in the end zone late in the first quarter to deny Dayton what proved to be a pivotal scoring opportunity. Allison's second inter ception, which included a 16-yard return, came on Dayton's first drive of the second half, stopping a drive that had reached midfield. He then had a pass breakup on a 4th-and-12 opportunity on the Drake 15-yard line, forcing a key turnover on downs.
