Kente Edwards ran for 265 yards that included a 70-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to help Lafayette pull away and beat Richmond 35-28 on Saturday. Edwards burst up the middle and then ran untouched along the right sideline to cap the scoring wi th 6:09 to play. Edwards also had a 61-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter and finished with 26 carries.Dean DeNobile was 14-of-25 passing and threw three touchdown passes and an interception for Lafayette (8-3, 6-0 Patriot League). Carso n Persing caught six passes for 93 yards and a touchdown for the FCS 25th-ranked Leopards. Nick Bierman had two touchdown catches and finished with 52 yards receiving. Kyle Wickersham accounted for three touchdowns for Richmond (6-4, 3-3). He completed 2 0 of 35 passes for 234 yards, threw two touchdown passes and an interception and had short-yardage touchdown run. Kente Edwards ran for a career-high 260 yards, Dean DeNobile threw four touchdown passes, and Lafayette defeated Colgate 59-42 on Saturday to remain undefeated in the Patriot League. Edwards, a junior who had only 110 yards in his first two seasons, topp ed his previous high of 255 yards against Georgetown in September. He has 1,032 yards with two regular season games remaining. Lafayette (7-3, 5-0) scored 24 points in the second quarter after being tied at 14 early in the period. The Leopards led 38-21 at halftime after DeNobile threw two TD passes and Edwards ran for another touchdown in the second quarter.The Raiders got within 38-28 in the third quarter but DeNobile hit Mason Kuehner with a 19-yard touchdown pass to close out the period and E dwards' 49-yard touchdown run made it 52-28 early in the fourth. DeNobile was 18-for-29 passing for 206 yards and backup QB Daniel Lipovski threw a 26-yard touchdown pass for a team total of 232 passing yards. The Leopards totaled 301 yards rushing and o utgained Colgate 533-436. Jake Stearney threw three touchdown passes and Jackson Kilburg, who completed 9 of 10 passes, had two TD throws for Colgate. Matt Fogler caught three touchdown passes. Lafayette and Lehigh are tied for first place in the Patriot League. Lafayette hosts Lehigh in two weeks. - AP College Football

Kente Edwards scored two rushing touchdowns and led a 217-yard rushing performance from the Lafayette offense in a 21-13 win over Holy Cross on Saturday. Edwards opened and closed the scoring on a day he had 146 rushing yards on 28 carries. He scored for the Leopards (6-4, 4-0 Patriot League) at the end of the first quarter with a a 10-yard rush, then added his second with 2:49 remaining in the fourth quarter. Holy Cross (1-8, 1-3) took a 13-7 lead in the third quarter when Max Mosey returned a punt 59 yards for a touchdown. Ethan Weber retook the lead for the Leopards with a 1-yard score late in the third quarter. He played an effective backup role with 67 rushing yards. Kente Edwards ran for 150 yards and three touchdowns and Lafayette spoiled Columbia's season opener 38-14 on Friday night. Edwards scored on runs of 13, 3 and 3 yards. The last touchdown was critical as it capped a 14-play, 75-yard drive that chewed up m ore than 5 1/2 minutes to open the second half and put the Leopards ahead 24-14. Two snaps later Kevin Dodard picked off Chase Goodwin and Lafayette capitalized with the first of two 1-yard touchdown runs by Ethan Weber. Weber finished with 57 yards as t he Leopards piled up 232 yards on the ground.Columbia then put together a 13-play drive but was stopped on five straight plays from the 1-yard line. Dean DeNobile was 14-of-17 passing for 166 yards for Lafayette (3-1). Edwards has rushed for 532 y ards and 10 touchdowns in the last three games. Goodwin was 15 of 34 for 195 yards with a touchdown and interception for Columbia, which is coming off a share of its first Ivy League title in 63 years. Kente Edwards had 255 yards on the ground and four touchdowns as Lafayette beat Georgetown 42-37 on Saturday. Edwards dashed 70 yards for a Leopards' touchdown on their first offensive snap to tie the game at 7 in the first quarter. Dean DeNobile was sac ked for a 9-yard loss in the red zone, fumbling on the play, and Naiteitei Mose returned it a program-record 90 yards for a touchdown. Savion Hart tied the game 21-all with a 1-yard touchdown run, and DeNobile was intercepted to end the half.In th e third quarter, DeNobile fumbled again on a sack, with Cody Pham recovering to set up a 32-yard field goal by Thomas Anderson that gave Georgetown the lead. Edwards answered with a 28-yard touchdown run, but Hart responded with his second score of the d ay - a 3-yard rush up the middle - to put the Hoyas back in front, 31-28. Edwards then gave Lafayette the lead once again with a 1-yard touchdown run on fourth down and put the game away with a 51-yard touchdown run to go up 42-31 in the fourth. Kente Edwards had 127 yards rushing and scored three of Lafayette's six rushing touchdowns in a 42-26 victory over Stonehill on Saturday. Edwards scored on runs of 4 yards and 2 yards within the first 16 minutes of play for a 14-0 Lafayette lead. The Leo pards' next three touchdowns were from much farther away as Jason Penza raced 29 yards, Ethan Weber 36 yards and Edwards 78 yards for a 35-6 lead early in the third quarter. Quarterback Dean DeNobile's 1-yard run for the sixth rushing touchdown made it 4 2-6 before Stonehill scored on two touchdown passes by Jack O'Connell and a 90-yard scoop-and-score by Richard Mosley III.
