09/14 WEEK 2 SUN BELT OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Cameran Brown, Georgia State (5th Yr.., QB - Warner Robins, Ga.),...Panthers fifth-year quarterback Cameran Brown amassed 315 yards of total offense in a 31-17 win over in-state foe Kennesaw State. The Warner Robins, Ga., native completed 16-of-23 passes for 253 yards and rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Brown finished an 18-yard run with a hurdle of an Owl defender to score the first touchdown of the contest in a game in which Geor gia State never trailed. - Sun Belt Football

Cameran Brown threw two touchdown passes, six players scored rushing touchdowns, and revamped Georgia State rolled past FCS opponent North Carolina A&T 59-10 in the Panthers' season opener on Friday night. After a 1-11 season in 2025, Georgia State signe d 37 transfers and 24 incoming freshmen. Brown, in his second season with the Panthers, also played at Texas Tech and West Georgia. On Friday he completed 15 of 20 passes for 190 yards. The Panthers had 563 yards of total offense, 279 passing and 284 on the ground. Lanear McCrary Jr. led with 75 rushing yards on nine carries and Savion Hart had a 41-yard touchdown run.The Panthers punted on their first possession then scored touchdowns on their next six. DJ Riles' 26-yard punt return set up the f irst score, a 30-yard touchdown pass from Brown to Dennis Murray Jr. Brown's short touchdown pass to Jamari Miller wrapped up the first half with the Panthers leading 35-7. The touchdown streak ended in the middle of the third quarter when Samer Layous k icked a 26-yard field goal although a blocked punt by Tre Mittman had set up the Panthers at the NC A&T 8-yard line. The Aggies' Kevin White passed for 122 yards, 61 of which want to Anthony Rucker for their only touchdown. The Aggies (0-2) were held to 209 yards with only 10 first downs. - AP College Football

2023 GULF SOUTH CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR: Cameran Brown, West Georgia,...Brown was named the GSC's top offensive freshman accolades after picking up three weekly freshman awards during the season. The redshirt-rookie appeared in nine gam es for West Georgia as he completed 82-of-151 passes for 914 passing yards and 10 touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback though also contributed on the ground rushing for 478 yards, averaging 6.3 per carry, while scoring six touchdowns. As a result, Bro wn was among conference leaders in a number of categories including rushing yards per carry (4th/6.3), passing completion (6th/.543), total yards of offense (7th/1,392), and total passing yards (8th).
