2022 BIG 12 DEFENSIVE NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR: Johnny Hodges, TCU, LB, Jr.,...Twenty-one TCU football players and Head Coach Sonny Dykes have received All-Big 12 recognition in voting by the conference head coaches. Quarterback Max Duggan was selected as th e Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, return specialist Derius Davis as the Special Teams Player of the Year, linebacker Johnny Hodges as the Defensive Newcomer of the Year and Sonny Dykes was the unanimous choice for Coach of the Year. TCU's Johnny Hod ges became the second Horned Frog to win Defensive Newcomer of the Year, joining Ben Banogu (2017). - TCU Football

NOV 14 BIG 12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Johnny Hodges, TCU, LB, Jr.,...Hodges had a team-best and season-high 11 tackles, more than double the next-closest Horned Frog, to lead a strong defensive effort in No. 4 TCU's 17-10 win over No. 18 Texas. The Horned Frogs held Texas to three offensive points, 199 yards and 1-of-13 third-down conversions. The junior LB had 1.5 tackles for loss as part of his 11 stops and combined on a tackle for no gain on a 4th-and-1 Bijan Robinson rush on Texas' opening ser ies to set the tone for the game. - Big 12 Football

He keyed a defensive effort that limited the Red Raiders to 256 yards of offense until a drive in the final minutes of the game, with the contest decided, brought Tech's total to 352 yards.
