Rocco Becht passed for a touchdown, Abu Sama ran for a score and Iowa State defeated Oklahoma State 20-13 on Saturday in the final regular-season game for both teams. Kyle Konrardy kicked field goals of 45 and 34 yards for Iowa State (8-4 overall, 5-4 Bi g 12), which rushed for 231 yards. The Cyclones' defense limited Oklahoma State's offense to 219 yards and forced two turnovers. Zane Flores threw a touchdown pass and Logan Ward kicked two field goals for Oklahoma State (1-11, 0-9), which has lost 18 of 19 games and 19 straight against conference opponents. Becht threw a 16-yard scoring pass to Chase Sowell following a fumble recovery to give the Cyclones a 10-0 lead.After punting three times and losing a fumble on their first four possessions, Oklahoma State drove 80 yards for their only score of the first half, a 1-yard run by Trent Howland to make it 10-7 at halftime. Iowa State extended the lead to 17-7 on a 40-yard burst by Sama, who finished with 87 yards on 12 carries. The news wasn't al l bad for Oklahoma State. On Tuesday, the team announced the selection of North Texas' Eric Morris as its new head football coach. Morris has North Texas contending for a conference championship and College Football Playoff berth. The Mean Green are No. 21 in the AP Top 25. Rocco Becht threw for 241 yards and three touchdowns, with two scores and 73 yards going to Brett Eskildsen, and Iowa State defeated Kansas 38-14 on Saturday. The Cyclones (7-4, 4-4 Big 12) earned their first win against the Jayhawks (5-6, 3-5) since 202 1 and came away with their first home victory since Sept. 27 against Arizona. Carsen Hansen rushed for 99 of his 120 yards in the first half, including a 4-yard score to put Iowa State ahead 14-0 early in the second quarter.Kyle Konrardy added the second-longest field goal of his career from 55-yards out to extend the lead 17-0 with 10:32 remaining before the break. The teams combined for four straight touchdown drives in the third quarter, with Iowa State leading 31-14 entering the fourth. Aiden Flora capped the scoring with 1:07 left in the fourth with his first rushing touchdown of the season for the Cyclones. Rocco Becht rushed for three touchdowns and threw for 243 yards, Carson Hansen ran for two scores and No. 14 Iowa State beat Arizona 39-14 Saturday night. Chase Sowell caught four passes for a career-high 146 yards, including receptions of 43, 32 and 52 yards. Becht completed 14 of 20 passes for the Cyclones (5-0, 2-0 Big 12), who led 36-7 midway through the third quarter. His nation-leading streak of consecutive games with a touchdown ended at 22. The teams were meeting for the first time since 1968, w ith Iowa State beating the Wildcats (4-1, 0-1) for the first time since 1958. Rocco Becht threw for 265 yards and had passing and rushing touchdowns as No. 14 Iowa State escaped with a 24-16 win over Arkansas State on Saturday. Abu Sama III ran for a 4-yard touchdown with 8:34 left to give the Cyclones (4-0) some breathing room af ter the Red Wolves had closed within 17-16. Carson Hansen rushed for 116 yards on 18 carries for Iowa State, and Sama had 69 yards on nine attempts. Jaylen Raynor threw for 222 yards and rushed for 83 for Arkansas State (1-2), which had consecutive touch downs nullified by penalties early in the fourth quarter and had to settle for a 40-yard field goal from Clune Van Andel — his third of the game — that got the Red Wolves within one.Becht, who struggled in the third quarter, completed four pas ses for 57 yards in a drive capped by Sama's touchdown run. The Cyclones were coming off an emotional 16-13 win over rival Iowa. The Red Wolves kept it close in the first half. Iowa State (2-0), which beat Kansas State 24-21 in Ireland last week, opened with back-to-back wins for the fourth time under coach Matt Campbell. Becht completed his first 14 passes and finished 19 for 20, a school-record 95%. He threw a touchdown pass in a program-record 20th straight game.Kyle Konrardy set the school record for longest field goa l with a 63-yarder as time expired in the first half. Konrardy's kick was second-longest in Big 12 history behind Martin Gramatica's 65-yarder for Kansas State in 1998. Rocco Becht passed for two touchdowns and ran for another score, helping No. 22 Iowa State beat No. 17 Kansas State 24-21 in the Aer Lingus Classic on Saturday. Becht was 14-for-28 for 183 yards. He found Dominic Overby for a 23-yard TD in the first quar ter and passed to Brett Eskildsen for a 24-yard score in the third quarter. With 2:26 to go, Iowa State went for it on fourth-and-3 at the Kansas State 16-yard line. Becht found Carson Hansen for 15 yards and iced the game. "He called a great play, he ga ve me two plays and let me decide and I knew we were going to have a chance to get it," Becht said "We've worked on it in practice and it's been working for us and we're confident with it and I have trust in my guys."The Cyclones (1-0, 1-0 Big 12) opened a 24-14 lead in the fourth quarter after a turnover on downs by Kansas State at its own 30-yard line. Becht had no trouble spreading the ball to his receivers as he completed a pass to six different receivers. His top target was Jaylin Noel, who finished with 135 yards and a touchdown. This duo was also methodical in Iowa State's first drive of the game. The two connected for a 54-yard completion that was followed by a 21-yard TD pass to wide receiver Jayden Higgins. Becht also threw a 14-yard TD pass to Noel, and his 2-yard run in the fourth quarter finished the scoring.North Dakota's Simon Romfo, making his frist career start after being a backup to the now-Michigan State quarterback Tommy Schuster, was 17 of 30 for 12 1 yards. Romfo led a North Dakota offense that ran for 174 yards and held a nearly 16-minute advantage in time of possession. The Fighting Hawks' longest drive came late in the first quarter. They went on a 23-play, 88-yard drive that resulted in a field goal by C.J. Elrichs.
