Louisville football signed three wide receivers from the Class of 2023 last month during the early National Signing Day but will have one more coming this fall. Former Jackson State receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. committed to Louisville on Thursday evening, adding to head coach Jeff Brohm's first signing class with the Cardinals. Coleman, who was the SWAC Freshman of the Year last season, played for coach Deion Sanders at JSU before he left to become Colorado's head football coach. The group of incoming wid e receivers includes William Fowles, Jahlil McClain and Cataurus Hicks, all of whom are three-star recruits. Jimmy Calloway and Jadon Thompson add to the mix after opting to transfer in from Tennessee and Cincinnati, respectively.In his collegiate debut, Coleman, deemed a top-20 transfer prospect by Rivals, was the Tigers' third-leading receiver, totaling 475 yards and 13 touchdowns on 32 catches in 13 games played as JSU ended the season with a 12-1 record and the program's first perfect regular season. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver added special teams duties, averaging a team-high 23.3 yards per kickoff return in addition to 8.7 yards per punt return. Prior to coming to Jackson State, a historically Black university, Coleman was a four-sta r recruit, the No. 6 wide receiver in the Class of 2021, ranked 54th nationally and the top-rated recruit in Missouri, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings. - Courier Journal
