  WEEK 7 FCS NATIONAL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Malachi McNeal, North Dakota, LB, Sr., 6-1, 230,...McNeal collected 10 tackles, including nine solos, as North Dakota defeated Youngstown State 34-17 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. His fourth career game in double figures sparked a defense that limited YSU quarterback Beau Brungard to 71 rushing yards, or 60 below his pre-game average. McNeal's sack of Brungard in the second quarter helped set up the Fighting Hawks offense for a touchdown. He also had one pass breakup.   WEEK 7 MISSOURI VALLEY DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: LB Malachi McNeal, North Dakota, 6-1, 230, Sr., Waukegan, Ill.,...McNeal led North Dakota's defense in the 35-17 victory over Youngstown State and he accounted for 10 tackles (nine solo), a sack and one pass breakup. McNeal and the UND defense limited Beau Brungard to 71 yards rushing on 19 attempts. His sack helped the Hawks get the ball back early in the second quarter and led to a North Dakota score five plays later, which brought the score to 28-7. - Missouri Valley Football

  NOV 14 MISSOURI VALLEY NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: LB Malachi McNeal, North Dakota, 6-0, 235, R-Fr., Waukegan, Ill. (Warren Township),...McNeal came up with a blocked punt right before intermission that gave UND momentum and led to a 14-3 lead on the scoreboard at the break. North Dakota defeated South Dakota 28-19 with the help of the block before intermission. It is McNeal's second blocked punt this season, with the other one coming in the 49-35 loss to No. 1 South Dakota State. - Missouri Valley Football
