  Eddie Lee Marburger threw two touchdown passes, Nathan Denney ran for 158 yards and UT Rio Grande Valley beat East Texas A&M 33-14 on Saturday night in a Southland Conference regular-season finale. UT Rio Grande Valley (9-3, 5-3) has won three straight games and finished tied for third place with Lamar in the conference standings. Logic Hudgens had a 52-yard pick-6 late in the first quarter and Marburger threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Ismael Smith Flores to help the Vaqueros build a 20-7 halftime lead. Marburger added a 4-yard touchdown pass to Kyran Lee early in the fourth quarter.

Marburger completed 17 of 22 passes for 141 yards. Brysen Gardner made all four of his field-goal attempts for the Vaqueros. Eric Rodriquez and Jack Jacobs were a combined 20-of-40 passing for 187 yards for the Lions. Rodriquez threw two interceptions. Jacobs threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Daniels in the fourth quarter. EJ Oakmon's 1-yard touchdown run capped an 18-play, 80-yard drive on the opening drive for East Texas A&M (3-9, 3-5), which has lost four of its last five games. - AP College Football

  Eddie Lee Marburger threw four touchdown passes and UT Rio Grande Valley beat McNeese 28-13 on Saturday night. Marburger was 17-of-29 passing for 257 yards. Tony Diaz had three touchdown catches and finished with seven receptions for 134 yards receiving for UT Rio Grande Valley (8-3, 4-3 Southland Conference), which has won three of its last four games. Marburger and Diaz connected on TDs from 75 and 7 yards in the fourth quarter.

Jake Strong completed 25 of 35 passes for 275 yards and threw one touchdown pass and two interceptions for McNeese (4-7, 3-4). Matthew McCallister caught six passes that included an 85-yard touchdown and finished 140 yards receiving. Strong's TD pass to McCallister stretched the Cowboys' lead to 10-0 late in the first quarter. Marburger threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Tavian Cord and a 7-yarder to Diaz to put the Vaqueros up 14-10 at the break. - AP College Football

  Eddie Lee Marburger threw a career-high six touchdown passes and ran for another score as UT Rio Grande Valley rolled to a 56-28 victory over Incarnate Word on Saturday night. Marburger was 26-of-36 passing for a career-best 440 yards. He threw a pair of touchdown passes to both Xayvion Noland and Ismael Smith Flores, and one each to Tony Diaz and Nathan Denney.

Diaz finished with a program-record 17 catches and a personal-best 172 yards. Diaz’s one-handed 3-yard touchdown grab late in the third quarter stretched the Vaqueros’ lead to 42-21. Noland had four receptions for 155 yards. UT Rio Grande Valley (6-2, 2-2 Southland Conference) scored on four if its first five drives and led 35-0 at halftime. EJ Colson completed 29 of 45 passes for 339 yards with two touchdown passes and had a 22-yard touchdown run for Incarnate Word (2-6, 0-4).   Eddie Lee Marburger threw for 223 yards and a touchdown and six-different UTRGV ball carriers reached the end zone and the Vaqueros beat NAIA-member Texas Wesleyan 61-13 on Saturday. Broderick Taylor, Fabian Garcia, Marburger, TJ Dement, Brennan Carroll and Djouvensky Schlenbaker led the rushing parade for UTRGV (4-0). The Vaqueors gained 283 yards on the ground on 41 carries.

In the pass game, Xayvion Noland had five receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown. UTRGV led 40-0 at halftime. In their last two weeks against NAIA opposition, UTRGV has outscored the opposition 141-13. Jaiden Jones scored Texas Wesleyan's first touchdown with a 65-yard pick-6 of UTRGV backup Aidan Jakobsohn to make it 47-7 with 2:04 left in the third quarter.   UT Rio Grande Valley opened its inaugural football season with a historic performance, rolling past Langston 80-0 on Saturday. The Vaqueros (3-0) scored their first defensive touchdown in program history when Elijah Graham returned an interception for a score in the first quarter, helping build a 21-0 lead. By halftime, UTRGV was up 52-0, fueled by efficient passing from Eddie Lee Marburger and Aidan Jakobsohn, who combined for five touchdown throws. Xavyion Noland led all receivers with 151 yards and two touchdowns.

UTRGV had 517 yards rushing and averaged 13.3 yards per carry. Djouvensky Schlenbaker's 66-yard touchdown and Broderick Taylor's 33-yard scoring run highlighted a backfield that saw 11 different players record carries. The Vaqueros' defense force three interceptions and holding Langston (0-2) to 167 total yards and 1.6 yards per rush.
