Rickey Hyatt Jr., South Alabama, Player News

South Alabama on Wednesday added a Division I transfer for 2022, as former Kentucky safety Rickey Hyatt officially joined the program. Hyatt, originally from Columbus, Ohio, totaled one tackle in two games of action as a redshirt freshman for the Wildcats in 2021. He will have four seasons of eligibility at South Alabama beginning this fall. The 6-foot-2, 203-pound Hyatt was a three-star recruit in the 2020 class out of Westerville (Ohio) Central High School. He re-joins former Kentucky teammate Allen Dailey, who transferred to South Alabama last season. Hyatt is the eighth Division I transfer to join the South Alabama program since the end of spring practice, and 17th since the end of the 2021 season. - Birmingham News
