Aidan Bouman threw four touchdown passes, three to Larenzo Fenner, and South Dakota rolled to a 38-17 win over Drake on Saturday in the first round of the FCS playoffs. South Dakota (9-4), the 11th seed, plays at sixth-seeded Mercer in the second round o n Dec. 6. Bouman connected with Fenner for a 23-yard touchdown in the second quarter to put the Coyotes ahead 10-3. Drake answered with a 2-yard rushing touchdown from Logan Inagawa to tie the game at 10, but L.J. Phillips' short run later in the quarter gave South Dakota a 17-10 halftime lead. Fenner caught touchdown passes of 27 and 18 yards from Bouman to extend the Coyotes' lead to 31-10 in the third quarter. Jack Martens added a 3-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring. B ouman finished 15 of 20 for 261 yards, Fenner had five catches for 115 yards and Phillips rushed 14 times for 132 yards. Aidan Bouman threw two touchdown passes to Larenzo Fenner and South Dakota defeated Northern Iowa 17-14 on Saturday. Zeke Mata's school-record 58-yard field goal on the final play of the first half gave the Coyotes a 10-7 lead and Bouman's 67-yard hookup with Fenner made it 17-7 midway through the third quarter. Northern Iowa scored with less than a minute left in the game when Matthew Schecklman threw a 7-yard TD pass to Bill Jackson but South Dakota recovered the ensuing onside kick.Bauman comp leted 16 of 24 passes for 202 yards and Fenner had 84 yards on three receptions for the Coyotes (5-3, 3-1 Missouri Valley Football Conference). Schecklman had two touchdown passes and was 22-for-40 passing for 189 yards. He led the Panthers (2-5, 0-3) wi th 60 yards rushing and JC Roque Jr. was the top receiver with 91 yards on seven catches. - AP College Football

Aidan Bouman's two touchdown passes staked South Dakota to a 17-point lead to start the fourth quarter and the Coyotes held off a Missouri State rally to take a 20-13 Missouri Valley Conference victory on Saturday. Bouman's 44-yard touchdown pass to Wesl ey Eliodor put South Dakota up, 13-7 heading into intermission, and his 23-yard strike to Carter Bell made it a 20-3 lead with 2:19 left in the third quarter. Jason Shelley led the Bears (3-6, 1-5) on a 13-play, 67 yard drive capped by his short pass to Naveon Mitchell with 11:01 left, but they could only managed a Jose Pizano 37-yard field goal late to cut into the South Dakota lead. OCT 24 MISSOURI VALLEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: QB Aidan Bouman, South Dakota - Bouman entered the game late in the first half trailing 21-7 and led the Coyotes to a 27-24 win against No. 14 Southern Illinois Saturday on Dakota Days. He led USD to 10 points on his first two drives to close the gap to 21-17 and helped USD march 41 yards inside of five minutes to go to setup the game-winning field goal.
