2022 WAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Kavian Gaither, So., LB, Sam Houston,...Gaither, a sophomore linebacker, led the WAC with 8.8 tackles per game and was fifth in the conference with 79 total tackles across just nine games played. Gaither added 3.0 s acks, 12.0 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries to his 2022 stat line. Gather had 10 or more tackles in each of the final four games of the season, which included 11 stops, 4.0 TFL and 2.0 sacks at Utah Tech on Oct. 22 to win WAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. - Western Athletic Conference Football
