WEEK 2 MAC FOOTBALL CO-SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jesus Gomez, Eastern Michigan, PK, Senior, Puebla, Mexico (Prepa Tec Puebla),...Gomez was sensational for the Eagles as he was a perfect 3-of-3 in field goal attempts, including makes of 57 yards, 50 yards, and 29 yards. It marked the second time in his career he was 3-of-3 in a single game and the first time EMU history a placekicker converted multiple field goal attempts of 50+ yards in the same game. His 57-yard kick in the first quarter not on ly gave EMU an early lead, it changed the record book as he took over the top spot in EMU history after being tied with two others for the then-record of 55 yards. Additionally, the 57-yard make ranks tied for the fourth-longest in MAC history. Overall, his 57-yard kick is the second-longest in the FBS this year. He is one of three kickers nationally to have made a pair of 50+ yard field goals in 2024, but the only one to make two in the same game. - MAC Football

2022 ALL-MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE THIRD TEAM: Placekicker - Jesus Gomez, Eastern Michigan,...Gomez wasted no time entering the EMU record books in his first season as the team's primary place kicker. The team's leader in total points (82), Gomez has knock ed in 13-of-16 field goal attempts this season (81%), a percentage which ranks fourth in the MAC. Additionally, he was a perfect 43-of-43 on extra point attempts during the 2022 regular season. Gomez's signature kick came against Ball State University, Oct. 22, when he drilled a program-record-tying 55-yard field goal attempt as time expired in the first half. - Eastern Michigan Football

SEPT 19 MAC WEST DIVISION SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jesus Gomez, Eastern Michigan, Kicker, Sophomore, Puebla, Mexico (Prepa Tec Puebla),...Sophomore kicker Jesus Gomez split the uprights on a 27-yard field goal attempt with 11:04 in the first qua rter. It was the first field goal make of his career. Moreover, it was the first three-point attempt for Eastern Michigan this season. Prior to Saturday's game, EMU had not made a field goal since Dec. 18, 2021, against Liberty University. Gomez finished the contest a perfect 3-of-3 on field goal attempts, while also hitting each of his three extra-point attempts. - MAC Football
