OCT 17 NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Ashur Carraha, Stonehill, Quarterback, So., 6-0, 190 lbs., Cambridge, MA/Cambridge Rindge & Latin, Week 7 Stats: 221 pass yards, 18-28, 64.3 pass completion percentage, 3 TD pass, 0 INT,...Carraha threw for more than 200 ya rds for the second time in his career for Stonehill, which suffered its first setback in NEC play against preseason favorite Sacred Heart on Saturday. The sophomore signal caller passed for 221 yards and three touchdowns. In addition, he completed 64.3 p ercent of passes and was not intercepted in that stretch. The Cambridge, MA native accounted for the Skyhawks' first points when he hit Tom Comella on a 46-yard touchdown pass with 6:37 left in the second quarter. He also fired two more strikes late in t he game with a 4-yarder to Cameron Alves and a 17-yarder to Nicholas Saccu. This is Carraha's second NEC Rookie of the Week honor this season. - NEC Football

OCT 3 NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Ashur Carraha, Stonehill, QB, Fr., 6-0, 190, Cambridge, MA/Cambridge Rindge & Latin, Week 5 Stats: 149 passing yards, 66.7 pass completion pct., 2 TD passes, 1 INT, 4 rushes, 34 rush yards, 1 TD rush,...Carraha made a splash in Stonehill's NEC debut on Saturday. The freshman quarterback threw for a game-high 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns after converting on 12-of-18 attempts for a 106.02 passer rating and 66.7 completion percentage. In addition, Carraha tacked on 34 ru shing yards and a touchdown on four carries for the Skyhawks, who defeated visiting Duquesne by a 24-20 final in their first-ever conference game. The Cambridge, MA native is the second Stonehill player to garner NEC Rookie of the Week honors, joining so phomore running back Jarel Washington (Sept. 5). Ashur Carraha threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Corbett on the first play of the fourth quarter and Stonehill made its Northeast Conference game a success with a 24-20 win on Saturday over Duquesne. The game was first in the NEC for the Skyhawks (3-0, 1-0), who are in their first year transitioning from Division II to the FCS. The Dukes (1-4, 1-1) took a 17-10 lead on Abdul Janneh's 26-yard touchdown reception from Joe Mischler in the final minute of the first half. Carraha threw an 8-yard scor e to Will Diamantis before the Dukes took a 20-17 lead late in the third quarter. Anthony Lamonica's interception with 1:21 left clinched the win. Carraha threw for 149 yards with the two TDs and an interception and added a 30-yard rushing score. Corbett had 130 yards rushing and added 63 receiving. Mischler and Darius Perrantes had a touchdown and an interception apiece for the Dukes. Janneh made two TD catches. - AP College Football

Ashur Carraha completed 9 of 11 passes for 186 yards and four touchdowns, and Stonehill had eight first-half touchdowns in a 76-0 rout of Division II member Post University on Saturday. Stonehill (2-0) led 41-0 in the first quarter and 55-0 at halftime. Stonehill linebacker Marje Mulumba made an interception on the second offensive play of the game and Jermaine Corbett ran it in on Stonehill's second play. Then Carraha found Chase Conrad wide open for a 44-yard touchdown and a 14-0 lead. On the ensuing kickoff, Post fumbled it and Stonehill ran it back to the 2-yard line before Corbett rushed for his second touchdown. Matt Arvanitis broke a tackle in the backfield and raced down the left side for a 54-yard touchdown and a 28-0 lead. Corbett finished wi th 15 carries for 95 yards and three touchdowns for Stonehill. Chris Domercant caught two passes for 56 yards and two scores. Broghean McGovern was intercepted two times for Post. The Eagles were held to 208 total yards. - AP College Football
