  SEP 5 NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Jarel Washington, STO, RB, So., White Plains, NY/Iona Prep, Week 1 Stats: 50 rushing yards, 11 rushes, TD rush, 4.5 ypc, 1 reception, 49 yards, 1 TD reception,...Tallying 99 all-purpose, including 50 yards on 11 carries, Washington scored a pair of touchdowns down the stretch to lead Stonehill to a come-from-behind victory at Bloomsburg. With the Skyhawks trailing by 11 in the fourth, the sophomore running back capped off an 80-yard drive by hauling in a 49-yard touchdown pass from Ashur Carrara with 4:32 left to pull his team within three.   SEP 5 NEC PRIME PERFORMER: Jarel Washington, STO (RB, So.),...Washington scored two clutch touchdowns as Stonehill erased an 11-point, deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat Bloomsburg in two overtimes by a 33-30 final. The NEC Offensive Player of the Week capped off an 80-yard drive by hauling in a 49-yard touchdown pass from Ashura Carrara to pull the Skyhawks within three with 4:32 left. In the second overtime period, Washington rushed in from two yards out untouched to complete the comeback bid. The sophomore running back finished with 99 all-purpose yards, including 50 yards on 11 carries. - NEC Football

  Jarel Washington went untouched into the end zone from the 2-yard line in the second overtime and Stonehill won its FCS debut 33-30 over Bloomsburg on Saturday. Washington also caught a 49-yard touchdown pass from Ashur Carraha that pulled the Skyhawks to 27-24 with 4:32 remaining. Perry Shelbred forced overtime by making a 31-yard field goal with 13 seconds remaining in regulation. It was their fourth straight season-opening win against Bloomsburg. In April, Stonehill moved up from the Northeast-10 Conference in Division II and joined the Northeast Conference, beginning a four-year Division I transition. Zane Janiszewski had one rushing touchdown for Bloomsburg. He also fumbled the ball into the end zone but it was recovered by John Ayres for a score. Ayres added a second touchdown rushing in the third quarter. Brendan McGonigle kicked three field goals. The Skyhawks host Post next Saturday and will have a three-week break before playing Duquesne in a conference opener. - AP College Football
