2022 ALL-AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION: CB Davion Ross, Memphis, Jr.,...Both Jaylon Allen and Davion Ross earned Honorable-Mention All-AAC for Memphis. Allen had 56 tackles, a team-best nine tackles for loss, four sacks, one interception , one pass breakup, one fumble recovery and six quarterback hurries. Memphis football added to its secondary with a commitment from Eastern Kentucky defensive back Davion Ross. Ross made his announcement on Monday via Twitter. The junior entered the transfer portal on April 26. As a sophomore cornerback last season, Ross played in 11 games with nine starts. He was named the ASUN Conference Defensive Player of the Year and tied for the national lead among FBS and FCS players with three interceptions returned for touchdowns. Ross also had 46 tackles with a fumble recovery and 13 pass breakups. The 5-foot-10 Georgia native switched from wide receiver to defensive back before the 2020 season and started eight games. He had a 94-yard kickoff return touchdown in the Opportunity Bowl that season and averaged 27.5 yards per kic koff return last season. - Memphis Commercial Appeal

2021 ASUN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Davion Ross, Eastern Kentucky,...Ross led the nation in both interception return touchdowns (3) and pass breakups (13) to claim the first-ever Defensive Player of the Year honor. He ranked tied for second in the ASUN with his three picks while totaling 46 tackles on the season. The sophomore defensive back was part of an EKU defense that picked off 13 passes this fall and averaged 4.8 tackles per game. He also recorded 19 kick returns for the Colonels fo r a total of 522 yards with his longest being a 98-yard touchdown return against No. 1 Sam Houston. - ASUN Football
