WEEK 2 BIG 12 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Arizona State's Cam Skattebo (pronounced Skatte-boo) led the nation in yards from scrimmage with 297 in week two, with 262 yards coming on the ground, in ASU's win over Mississippi State. His 262 rushing yards were the second most ever by a Sun Devil behind Eno Benjamin's 312-yard effort against Oregon State in 2018. The senior rushed for 93 yards in the fourth quarter alone to seal the victory over the Bulldogs. Skattebo also gives the Big 12 the national yar dage leader in back-to-back weeks with Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan earning the distinction in week one. - Big 12 Football

2022 ALL-BIG SKY FIRST TEAM: RB Cameron Skattebo (SAC),...Skattebo is the third Sacramento State player to earn Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year following running back Charles Roberts (1998, 1999) and quarterback Kevin Thomson (2019). Skattebo was al so named to the all-Big Sky first team after a season in which he rushed for 1,251 yards. The sophomore also caught 24 passes for 281 yards and finished the year with nine total touchdowns (5 rushing, 3 receiving, 1 kick return). He had seven 100-yard ga mes during the season, including a season high 201 at Eastern Washington. The Rio Linda, Calif., native is currently sixth in school single season history for rushing yards and is second with an average of 7.41 yards per carry. Jake Dunniway threw two touchdown passes, Cameron Skattebo scored three TDs, and Sacramento State beat Cal Poly 49-21 Saturday night for the Hornets seventh consecutive road win. The Hornets, ranked No. 5 in the FCS coaches poll, have not yet trailed in a game this season and have won 12 regular-season games in a row, dating to last season. Dunniway completed 16 of 22 passes for 246 yards with an interception and Skattebo ran 10 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns and his 16-yard touchdown reception g ave the Hornets a 21-0 lead with 5 minutes left in the second quarter. Asher O'Hara, who started at quarterback but split time with Dunniway, was 7-of-11 passing for 91 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown pass to Justin Gipson, and added 13 carries for 68 yards and a TD for Sacramento State (4-0, 1-0 Big Sky). O'Hara scored on a 1-yard run that capped a nine-play, 75-yard drive that opened the second half and made it 28-0. SEPT 5 BIG SKY SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Cameron Skattebo (Sacramento State),...Cameron Skattebo collected weekly awards on the special teams side, after the running back did a little bit of everything in Sacramento State's 56-33 win over Utah Te ch in Week 1. Skattebo scored three touchdowns in the game with one each rushing, receiving and on a kickoff return. His most electric play of the night came midway through the fourth quarter and has led to national attention. After Utah Tech scored to p ull within 17, Skattebo went on to the field as part of the hands team to cover a possible onside kick.That kick came to him on a perfect hop which he caught and immediately turned up field. Skattebo was met by the kicker at the Utah Tech 29-yard line and eventually carried three other players into the end zone from 10-yards out for a 43-yard kickoff return. Skattebo also rushed for a career high 153 yards and just 10 attempts and scored a career long 57-yard touchdown. Skattebo also caught two p asses for 20 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown where he delivered a punishing blow at the goal line. 2021 ALL-BIG SKY CONFERENCE THIRD TEAM (COACHES): RB Cameron Skattebo, Sac State,...Skattebo proved to be a force over the final five games of the regular season where he averaged 95.6 rushing yards per game and an incredible 9.19 yards per carry. The fr eshman scored six touchdowns during that stretch and finished the season with just three negative rushing yards.
