  2022 PRESEASON ALL-SOUTHERN CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM (COACHES): DB Andreas Keaton, So., Western Carolina,...Dubbed the SoCon Freshman of the Year and an All-Freshman team selection last season by the league's head coaches, sophomore DB Andreas Keaton collected second-team preseason All-SoCon honors. The Powder Springs, Ga., native finished sixth on the WCU squad with 45 tackles including 29 solo stops, and was tied for sixth in the SoCon with a WCU-leading three interceptions. Keaton was a finalist for the 2021 Stats Perform FCS Jerry Rice Award given to the nation's top freshman, finishing tied for 17th in the national vote. - Western Carolina Football

  2021 SOUTHERN CONFERENCE ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM (COACHES): Andreas Keaton, Western Carolina,...Keaton finished his rookie season with 45 total tackles, including 29 solo stops to rank sixth on the Catamount squad from his safety position. Starting all 11 games in the defensive secondary, he recorded a career-best eight tackles in his collegiate debut against Eastern Kentucky. He posted two of his team-high three interceptions against Liam Welch and the Samford offense in mid-September. Keaton finished the year with six pass break-ups to go along with his three picks, finishing tied for seventh with nine total passes defended. - Western Carolina Football

  2021 SOUTHERN CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Andreas Keaton, DB, Western Carolina,...Western Carolina's Keaton started all 11 games at safety for the Catamounts this season, finishing sixth on the team with 44 tackles. He had three interceptions on the season, including two against Samford on Sept. 18. He broke up six passes on the season. He tied for seventh in the league with nine total passes defended and ranked eighth with 0.82 per game...Keaton is the fourth Catamount chosen as the freshman of the year by the coaches and the first since quarterback Tyrie Adams in 2016. - Southern Conference Football
