  SEPT 5 OVC CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Devon Starling, RB, 6-1, 210, Jr., Nashville, Tenn., Tennessee State,...Playing at No. 12 Eastern Washington, Starling rushed for the most yards against a Division I opponent this season (FBS or FCS) with 207 yards. He had 25 rushes to averaged 8.3 yards per carry and also caught three passes for finish the game with 230 all-purpose yards. He had a 43-yard touchdown run at the end of the first quarter to give TSU a 19-15 lead. Starling had seven rushes of more than 10 yards in the game.   2022 PRESEASON ALL-OHIO VALLEY FOOTBALL (COACHES): RB Devon Starling, Tennessee State,...Starling followed his Co-Freshman of the Year honors by earning second-team All-OVC honors this year. He was injured in the next-to-last game of the year (which limited him to just 15 carries and 39 yards over the final two games) but still finished the year ranked 45th nationally with 800 total rushing yards and three touchdowns. Starling also caught 37 passes (for 312 yards) which was the most on the team, 5th most among all players in the OVC, and tied for 1st among all running backs. That mark was eighth among all FCS running backs. Against OVC champion UT Martin, he rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown and caught 12 passes for 117 yards; the 12 receptions was the most of any FCS running back in a game this season. - Tennessee State Football

  2021 OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE SECOND-TEAM (COACHES): RB - Devon Starling, Tennessee State,...Coming off the OVC Freshmen of the Year Award, Starling continued to amaze and with the leadership of a Heisman Trophy winner calling the shots, he finished with 848 yards in 180 attempts. Starling found the end zone three times with an average of 72.73 yards/carry. Starling rushed for 100+ yards in three games (Kentucky State; 142, Austin Peay; 120 and Eastern Illinois; 122). The Antioch product also contributed as a receiver with 312 yards on 37 catches. His best performance was at UT Martin where he made 12 catches for 117 yards. - Tennessee State Football
