Wesley Walker, Michigan, Player News

UT values defensive backs with versatility, and Wesley Walker fits that mold. At Georgia Tech, he mostly played nickel back. But Walker, a former Ensworth standout, could also see time at safety or star position. And he'll certainly play special teams. L ast season, Walker had 45 tackles and played almost 80% of the defensive snaps in the 10 games he played at Georgia Tech. UT had the worst pass defense in the SEC last season, so there are ample opportunities for experienced newcomers. - Knoxville News S entinel

Georgia Tech transfer Wesley Walker and Ohio State transfer Andre Turrentine, who are former Ensworth High School teammates, committed to Tennessee. Both mostly play safety or nickelback, but they could get a chance at cornerback. A true cornerback was preferred. But MTSU's Quincy Riley, an All-Conference USA performer, committed to Louisville after considering UT. There aren't many cornerbacks left in the portal better than what UT already has, but it might try to add one. - Knoxville News Sentinel
