 Majon Wright, Transfer, Player News

  05/20/22 - WR Majon WrightrSr/2025, Transfer, 6-2, 197 (DS#999 WR) + More +

Receiver Ma'jon Wright's second tour of duty with Arizona appears to be coming to an end. Wright re-entered the NCAA transfer portal Wednesday, the latest twist in his complicated college career. Wright came to Tucson from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2020. He impressed as a freshman during the pandemic-shortened season, appearing in all five games and catching 15 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown.

Wright then transferred to Middle Tennessee State and enrolled there. He subsequently had a change of heart and returned to Arizona - but was ineligible to play this past season. Wright spent the campaign working on the scout team. He was a regular part of the Wildcats' receiver rotation during spring practice but couldn't crack the starting lineup. Arizona's likely starters are returnee Dorian Singer, transfer Jacob Cowing and freshman Tetairoa McMillan. - Arizona Star News

  04/08/21 - WR Majon WrightrSr/2025, Transfer, 6-2, 197 (DS#999 WR) + More +

If all goes according to plan, wide receiver Ma'jon Wright will be an Arizona Wildcat again this summer. Wright emerged as Arizona's most promising freshman last season, catching 15 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown in five games. But when the UA changed coaches, Wright, like several of his teammates, entered the NCAA transfer portal. Wright subsequently announced he would return to Arizona. He then changed his mind again and transferred to Middle Tennessee State, where he was enrolled and announced as part of the Raiders' 2021 signing class. Offensive lineman Jamari Williams - Wright's teammate at Arizona and Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida - also transferred to MTSU. Now Wright is planning to return to Arizona after he and his family had a change of heart. - Arizona Star News

  01/25/21 - WR Majon WrightrSr/2025, Transfer, 6-2, 197 (DS#999 WR) + More +

Ma'jon Wright's commitment to the post-Kevin Sumlin era at Arizona has been wishy-washy, but the wide receiver, who emerged as one of the Wildcats' top pass-catchers in 2020, officially ended his time at the UA on Saturday night by announcing his decision to transfer to Middle Tennessee State. Wright is the second former Wildcat to leave Arizona for Middle Tennessee State, joining fellow Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native and Cardinal Gibbons High School teammate, offensive lineman Jamari Williams. The 6-foot-2-inch, 197-pound Wright finished his lone season at Arizona with 15 catches for 176 yards and a touchdown. - Arizona Star News

  12/24/20 - WR Majon WrightrSr/2025, Transfer, 6-2, 197 (DS#999 WR) + More +

Freshman receiver Ma'jon Wright became the latest Wildcat to put his name in the NCAA transfer portal. Wright, who's from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, had a promising 2020 campaign, catching 15 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown. The catches and yards ranked second on the team. Arizona's receiving corps has been ravaged by potential transfers. Stanley Berryhill III and Jamarye Joiner also are in the portal. Additionally, Boobie Curry has indicated he will transfer. - Arizona Star News
