Washington State restocked its receiving corps, securing commitments from two Division I transfer pass-catchers who played significant roles at their previous stops. Former UNLV standout Kyle Williams and Josh Kelly, a big-play threat at Fresno State ove r the past three years, both pledged to WSU's football program on Saturday. WSU shored up a shorthanded position group just one day after announcing the hiring of new offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle, who led Western Kentucky to a highly productive sea son in 2022.Williams and Kelly, considering their experience and production, should be expected to contend for first-team responsibilities next year in Arbuckle's modified version of the Air Raid. Williams registered 1,568 yards and nine touchdown s on 117 receptions across 25 games over the past three seasons. A graduate of St. Monica Catholic High in California, Williams broke into the Rebels' starting lineup as a true freshman in 2020. He earned the Mountain West Conference's freshman of the ye ar award after leading his team with 426 yards and two touchdowns on 35 receptions during the six-game campaign. - Spokesman-Review

The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education is helping fund a third-party name, image and likeness program to financially benefit UNLV athletes. Bill Paulos, a longtime Las Vegas business executive and UNLV men's basketball booster, chairs the program call ed "Friends of UNILV." Blueprint Sports, founded in 2020 in Las Vegas with Agassi's financial backing, oversees the NIL program. Agassi's contribution was not disclosed. "The ability for Blueprint to work alongside Bill Paulos and the rest of the leaders hip for Friends of UNILV will bring equity and parity to student-athletes of all sports at UNLV," the tennis Hall of Famer and Las Vegas native said in a statement. "These student-athletes have worked tirelessly throughout their career to become a member of a Division I team, and I am excited to be a part of helping them learn about business and life with their personal brands."Paulos said more than $150,000 has been raised since the program began in October, with more than $80,000 having been di stributed to athletes through deals with businesses and nonprofit organizations. A new website will go online next week that will help connect athletes with business opportunities. Nevada law doesn't allow programs such as "Friends of UNILV" to coordinat e with UNLV to establish NIL deals, though a state committee has been established to study the issue. Each state has its own set of laws regarding NIL, which has become a key recruiting tool in college sports. - Las Vegas Review Journal

One day after UNLV football was picked to finish last in the Mountain West preseason poll, the scarlet and gray were shut out of the MWC All-Conference team. The league released its All-MWC teams on Thursday, with 11 players on offense and 11 on defense (plus four special teams selections), and no UNLV players were deemed worthy of inclusion. UNLV running back Charles Williams made the preseason All-MWC team last year, but after a season in which he posted 495 yards and four touchdowns in six games, he was beaten out by Fresno State's Ronnie Rivers and Wyoming's Xazavian Valladay. The two UNLV players with the best cases were wide receiver Kyle Williams and linebacker Jacoby Windmon. Williams won Freshman of the Year honors in 2020 by catching 35 passe s for 426 yards and two touchdowns, while Windmon enjoyed a breakout sophomore campaign in which he logged 39 tackles, 5.0 and 6.5 tackles for loss. - Las Vegas Sun
