Bowling Green State University reserve quarterback Tucker Melton has entered the transfer portal, he announced Monday on Twitter. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound redshirt sophomore served as the backup to Matt McDonald last season. He completed 2 of 10 passes fo r 23 yards and an interception in four games in 2021. He did not play in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. Melton was a three-star recruit in the class of 2020 out of Central High School in Phenix City, Ala. He chose Bowling Green among 11 offers, incl uding from Akron, UT-San Antonio, and South Alabama. According to 247Sports, Melton was the second-highest rated player in BGSU's 2020 class behind defensive back Deshawn Jones, and he is BGSU's 10th-highest-rated commit in program history. - Toledo Blad e
