Louisville football safety Lovie Jenkins was charged with fourth-degree assault and first-degree criminal mischief in a weekend incident at his girlfriend's apartment, according to court documents. The freshman had an arraignment on Monday and was releas ed from custody and ordered not to contact his girlfriend or return to her residence. According to court documents, Jenkins entered his girlfriend's apartment and kicked open her locked bedroom door. She alleges he threw her onto the ground and into a wa ll. She had no visible injuries, but complained of pain in her leg and toe, the incident report said. Jenkins is also accused of causing more than $1,000 in property damage. Louisville is aware of the incident, Louisville spokesman Rocco Gasparro said in a statement, and is investigating. - Courier Journal
