SEPT 12 MISSOURI VALLEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: QB Demeatric Crenshaw, Youngstown State - Crenshaw tied a school record with five touchdown passes in YSU's 49-16 win over Dayton. Crenshaw completed 11-of-17 passes for a career-best 230 yards in the c ontest against the Flyers. He had touchdown passes of 3, 17, 27, 30 and 52 yards in the victory. He had three touchdown passes in the first quarter as the Guins jumped out to a 21-0 lead. His fourth TD toss made the game 28-3 while his final scoring thro w of 30 yards put YSU in front 42-16. He tied the mark set by Kurt Hess on Nov. 19, 2011 against Missouri State. - Missouri Valley Football

Demeatric Crenshaw tied a school record with five touchdown passes and Youngstown State finished with a program-high six through the air in beating Dayton 49-16 on Saturday. Crenshaw tied the record set by Kurt Hess against Missouri State on Nov. 19, 201 1. Mitch Davidson threw the sixth TD pass late in the game. Crenshaw was 11 of 17 for 230 yards including a 52-yard score to Jaleel McLaughlin. Two of Crenshaw's TD throws went to Bryce Oliver. McLaughlin added 129 yards rushing including a 46-yard score on 13 carries. The Penguins (2-0) led 21-0 after the first quarter. Sam Webster's field goal early in the second quarter ensured the Flyers (1-1) of their 499th straight game without being shut out. They will try and make 500 consecutive at home against Kentucky State next week. YSU will play at Kentucky in the teams' first meeting. - AP College Football

OCT 11 STATS FCS NATIONAL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Demeatric Crenshaw, Youngstown State, QB, R-Fr., 6-1, 220, Pickerington, Ohio,...Crenshaw rushed for 195 yards to set Youngstown State's single-game record for a quarterback and accounted for three touchdow ns in a 41-33 win over nationally ranked Missouri State in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. He carried the ball 22 times and basically put away the win with a 73-yard TD run with 40 seconds left. He completed 10 of 19 passes for 99 yards, includi ng 28- and 8-yard TDs.
