SEPT 19 BIG 12 SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Oklahoma State's Trace Ford blocked UAPB's first punt attempt of the game and returned it 15 yards for a touchdown in the opening quarter of Oklahoma State's 63-7 win. It was the first punt blocked for a t ouchdown by the Cowboys since Sept. 15, 2018, against Boise State. The junior DE was also credited with a quarterback hurry and a third-down pass breakup. OSU ranks second among FBS teams with 30 blocked kicks since the beginning of the 2013 season. Afte r returning a blocked kick and punt for touchdowns in the game, the Cowboys are tied for first in the FBS in non-offensive touchdowns since the beginning of the 2020 season with 11. - Big 12 Football

Trace Ford has been one of the bigger buzz generators in Oklahoma State's preseason camp because of his physical development heading into his sophomore season. Yet on Wednesday, Ford said he was still out of shape after having COVID-19 during the summer. He tested positive in mid-July, according to his family. Ford was listed at 227 pounds last season, but was up near 250 earlier this year. He says he lost weight and struggled to get back in shape after battling through a variety of coronavirus symptoms . "I had the symptoms - no taste, no smell, the headaches, the sweat, the chills," he said. "I got over it. Here I am now, so it's all good. definitely got more out of shape. It's been harder to breathe. I'm slowly getting back in better and better shape every day. But (COVID-19) definitely took a toll on my body." - Daily Oklahoman
