Toledo's offensive line is thinner. And it has nothing to do with weight. Unfortunately for the Rockets, two-thirds of their starting offensive line is out of commission, according to a source, as interior lineman Tyler Long is out for the season with a leg injury, and tackle Mitch Berg is out indefinitely with an injury. Long, a Springfield graduate, has started 17 of the past 19 games at right guard. The preseason second-team All-MAC selection was part of a line that ranked first in the conference las t season in scoring (33.4 points per game) and fourth in total offense (435.8 yards).Long started five of six games during the coronavirus year, with Toledo ranking first in pass offense (325.8 passing yards) and second in total offense (494.0 yar ds). Berg, a St. John's Jesuit product, appeared in all 13 games at left tackle during his redshirt freshman season in 2018, and started 10 of 11 games at left tackle in 2019.
