The answer to who'll be FAU's starting quarterback in the fall wasn't expected to be answered in the spring, but Michael Johnson Jr. helped his case for QB1 during the later stages of the Owls' spring game at FAU Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Johnson Jr . had a strong performance in the team's intrasquad scrimmage, with the Penn State transfer quarterback throwing two touchdowns on 4 of 5 passing for 100 yards for Team Jon Bills in their 23-18 win over Team Chris Perkins. Zuberi Mobley also stood out fo r Team Bills. The redshirt freshman running back out of Northwestern high school finished with 63 rushing yards on six carries and a touchdown. Bills, FAU's tight ends coach, and Perkins, the team's running backs coach, served as the head coaches while F AU head coach Willie Taggart observed the game on the field for Saturday's matchup, which was a traditional game instead of offense versus defense after players were split up among the two teams. - Sun-Sentinel
