2022 PRESEASON ALL-SWAC SECOND TEAM: Running Back: Niko Duffey, Alcorn State,...Duffey, a 5-11, 175-pound junior running back from Tampa, Florida, finished the 2021 campaign ranked fourth in the SWAC with 805 rushing yards (73.2 yards/game) and four touc hdowns on his way to being voted to the All-SWAC Second Team Offense at the end of the season. The Jefferson High product also stepped out of the backfield to post 18 receptions for 181 yards and one touchdown. Throughout the campaign, Duffey had a strin g of three consecutive games in which he eclipsed 100 yards rushing in contests against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (142 yds), Grambling State (138 yds) and Mississippi Valley State (138 yds), respectfully. He also turned in a 128-yard performance at Southern Un iversity. - Alcorn State Football

2021 ALL-SWAC PRESEASON SECOND TEAM (COACHES): RB Niko Duffey, Sophomore, Alcorn State,...The three-star recruit out of Jefferson High School in Tampa, Fla., finished fourth in the SWAC in rushing yards per game (69.8), fifth in total rushing yards (838) , which was 54th nationally, seventh in all-purpose yards per game (92.50), seventh in rushing touchdowns (6), and eighth in rush yards per carry (5.17), which ranked 58th nationally. OCT 7 SWAC NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: Alcorn State Niko Duffey (5-11, 175, Fr., RB, Tampa, Fla.),...Duffey rushed for a game-high 101 yards in Alcorn's 35-7 victory over Alabama State on Saturday. He also scored a touchdown as he broke loose for a 67-yarder. Duffey also recorded a 24-yard rush in the first quarter. He averaged 11.2 yards per carry. Niko Duffey ran for two touchdowns and caught a pass for a third as Alcorn State cruised past Division II Mississippi College, 45-7, in the Braves home opener Saturday night. Prior to kickoff, Alcorn State honored members of its 1969 championship team th at was crowned Black National Champions and Southwestern Conference champions while posting an 8-0-1 record. Alcorn State (1-1) now has won 11 straight home openers.Alcorn State rolled to 324 yards rushing, with Duffey leading the way with 138 yar ds on 13 carries. Duffey opened the scoring by capping a seven-play, 64-yard opening drive with a 29-yard run. After Jonathon Bolton's short run for a score Duffey raced 45 yards to make it 21-0 after one quarter. Duffey's 26-yard touchdown catch from No ah Johnson capped the Braves' scoring. DeAnte' Smith-Moore hit Rondell Cole with a 10-yard pass with 2:43 left for Mississippi College's lone touchdown. - AP College Football
