 Ale Kaho, UCLA, Player News

  04/08/21 - OLB Ale KahorSr/2025, UCLA, 6-2, 230 (DS#999 OLB) + More +

Former Alabama linebacker Brandon 'Ale' Kaho and former Michigan running back Zach Charbonnet officially signed with the Bruins on March 31. Kaho was a four-star prospect coming out of high school and spent the last three seasons with Coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. Kaho decided to transfer to Pac-12 South rival Utah in late February but changed course and landed at UCLA, becoming the seventh incoming transfer for the 2021 recruiting class. Kaho contributed on special teams and rotated in at linebacker, playing in at least 12 games in each of his first three college seasons. He joins the Bruins' roster as a junior with two years of eligibility after the NCAA granted players an extra year because of the pandemic. He adds depth to a group of UCLA linebackers that saw just one departure this offseason when Leni Toailoa entered the transfer portal. - Orange County Register

Ale Kaho is still headed to the Pac 12 but not to the school he committed to in February. The former Alabama linebacker announced Monday evening that he will transfer to UCLA, a change of plans announcement that comes less than two weeks after the Nevada native announced a commitment to Utah. Kaho, who entered the NCAA transfer portal Feb. 19, was a four-star member of the Crimson Tide's 2018 signing class. - Birmingham News

  02/26/21 - OLB Ale KahorSr/2025, UCLA, 6-2, 230 (DS#999 OLB) + More +

Former Alabama linebacker Ale Kaho announced Thursday he has committed to transfer to Utah. Kaho had entered the NCAA transfer portal last week. He was a key special teams player who played in 40 football games for the Tide the past three seasons. The Reno, Nevada native began his college career in the Pac-12 as a signee in Washington's 2018 recruiting class. However, he asked for his release and enrolled instead at Alabama before his freshman season. Kaho recorded three blocked punts during the 2019 season, including one returned for a touchdown. He played occasionally on defense at inside linebacker and also saw time in goal-line situations a fullback. - Birmingham News
