2022 ALL-NORTHEAST CONFERENCE FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM: DB Travell Cook, Saint Francis U, R-Jr,...In his first season after transferring from Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Cook earned a spot as one of four total defensive backs on the First Team. He produ ced five takeaways this season (three interceptions and two forced fumbles), which was the most in a single-season for Saint Francis since 2018. Finishing with nine tackles, including five solo, the redshirt-junior defensive back had one interception and one forced fumble in a pivotal third quarter that saw the Red Flash erase a 21-14 halftime deficit and take a 38-21 lead. NOV 7 NEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Travell Cook, Saint Francis U, Defensive Back, R-Jr., 6-0, 185 lbs., Miami, FL/Carol City (Copiah-Lincoln CC), Week 10 Stats: 9 total tackles (5 solo), 1 INT, 1 FF,...Cook is the NEC Defensive Player of the Week fo r the first time this season after he had big stops on back-to-back defensive drives for Saint Francis U, which rolled to its Division I program-best seventh straight win after defeating Georgetown, 38-24, on Saturday. With the game tied at 21-all, the M iami, FL native forced an interception, which resulted in a Saint Francis U score seven plays later. Cook then forced a fumble two plays later on Georgetown's next drive, which led to an Alex Schmoke field goal. During that decisive third quarter, the Re d Flash turned a 21-14 halftime deficit into a 17-point advantage with a 24-0 run. Cook added nine tackles for Saint Francis U. - NEC Football
