NOV 7 NEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jermaine Corbett, Stonehill, Running Back, Jr., 5-9, 185 lbs., Long Branch, NJ/Long Branch, Week 10 Stats: 16 rushes, 227 rush yards, 14.2 ypc, 3 TD rushes,...Corbett paced Stonehill's 400-yard rushing attack with a season-high 227 yards - the most by an NEC player in a game this season - and three rushing touchdowns in the Skyhawks' 50-10 win against Wagner on Saturday. The junior running back averaged 14.2 yards on 16 carries for his second 200-plus rushing game of his career and third 100-yard effort of the season. Corbett scored on touchdown runs of 32, 59 and a season-high 74 yards, the third of which put Stonehill up, 38-10, in the third quarter. With his monstrous outing, he leads the NEC in rushing yards per game (122.5) and is second in rushing touchdowns (8). Jermaine Corbett ran for a career-high 227 yards on 16 carries and scored three touchdowns and Stonehill smothered Wagner 50-10 on Saturday. Corbett now has 735 yards on the ground this season with 115 carries. He ran for more yards Saturday than he did in two contests combined in September (217 Yards). Corbett's 32-yard scoring run with 7:42 left in the first quarter put Stonehill ahead 7-3. Later, his 59-yard scoring jaunt extended the lead to 14-3 just before the first ended. Damien Mazil threw a 1-y ard scoring pass to Naiem Simmons to get the Seahawks within 14-10 but they never scored again. Mazil threw for 120 yards for Wagner. Stonehill (4-3, 2-3 Northeast Conference) entered having dropped three straight; the last two by a combined 11 points. T he Skyhawks own a 3-0 all-time series lead over Wagner (1-8, 1-3). Junior running back Jermain e Corbett had 193 yards from scrimmage, scoring on a 50-yard reception on the second play of the fourth quarter to provide the winning touchdown. Linebacker Steve Cmielewski collected a career-high 11 tackles, while Kevin Porch and Anthony LaMonica had i nterceptions in the fourth quarter.
